The Most "Wonderful" Time of The Year...

     It's the most wonderful time of the year. It's the time of year where everyone is a little kinder, a little more charitable, a little more sympathetic towards strangers, people do more random acts of kindness towards others, more time/gifts/money/etc. are given because people feel the "holiday spirit." Any act of good is a wonderful thing to give to a stranger or someone we know, but doing it one time a year and because of "holiday spirit" is a load of crap. Why do we limit it to one season one time a year? Are we doing it because we genuinely care for the person that needs us in those moments or is it because of something we feel around the holiday season because "its the most wonderful time of the year"? Now this may sound like a bah-hum-bug statement, but stay with me and I will show you that its not, limiting ourselves to only being a better person around the holiday seasons sets up our excuses for the rest of the year to be anything less ...

Seeing yourself through the other lens: So here is the thing we all do it! We all look in the mirror from time to time and do not see what "others" say they see in us. We brush off the compliment because we can not see that in ourselves. But if roles were reversed and we were telling our family member, best friend, random person off the street, a co-worker, a classmate or so on and so on we would be telling them how awesome we thought they are or how strong they are. We would be there biggest cheering sections because we believe in them we see them through our own lens our own vision and perceptions of them because we love them and can see there potential. So we are quick to support the ones we love and boost them up because it's easier then building ourselves up in that aspect.
